Doctor Who – Doomsday

[WARNING - MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS]

Wow! What a way to end the series! This episode had everything – it was funny, exciting, humourous and poignant. I think Russell T Davies deserves a knighthood, at the very least.

I really loved the meeting of the cybermen and daleks. The dialogue had me falling off the chair with laughter, especially the element of Dad’s Army moment. And Rose’s ‘death’ was so clever. I’d never have guessed that was what was going to happen.

I can’t wait for the Christmas special.

Lots of Great News

5 July 2006

Everything’s going well at the moment. I have a new job which starts in August, and I’ve found a lovely new flat to go with it. So I’m moving soon.

I also get my degree results next week.

And England got knocked out of some football thing which is going on at the moment. All good!

Doctor Who - Army of Ghosts

[WARNING - MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS]

Cybermen and Daleks! What more could a girl ask for?

I got really excited watching this week’s episode. It’s building up to be a great finale. And I loved the explanation about Canary Wharf – it’s the most plausible reason I’ve heard for it being built!

At the beginning of the episode the opening sequence from Rose was repeated (with the earth and zooming in) with a speech from Rose about the Earth and a battle for it, and that this is where she dies. I’m not sure if Russell T Davis is trying to keep us guessing – we know Rose is leaving, so either she dies during the next episode, or it’s a bluff and she stays on Earth (and so dies there sometime in the future). Or maybe it’s a double bluff and she does die – I can’t decide, but I expect some devious twists and turns before the end.
